Jan Vandenheede
Jan Vandenheede has a Diplôme Supérieur de Fugue from the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, a Master of Arts in Music degree from Stanford University and a Doctorat en Arts et Sciences de l’Art¬from the Sorbonne. He worked for about ten years at I.R.C.A.M., the Institut de Recherche et de Coordination Acoustique/Musique, which is part of the Pompidou Center in Paris. One of his pieces, Struktur I, was commissioned by I.R.C.A.M. and premiered in the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris. Another composition, Wendung, was premiered by soloists of the Ensemble InterContemporain. Works by him have been performed in several countries in Europe and in the United States.
