Het Nieuwstedelijk

Het nieuwstedelijk makes theatre, text, music, audio and debate and is the city theatre of Leuven, Hasselt and Genk. In 2015, it came into being by the fusion of de Queeste – a Limburg-based house of theatre makers – and the music theatre group Braakland/Zhebilding in Leuven.

Het Nieuwstedelijk is an artist-run theatre house that helps shaping the city and the community of tomorrow. Their work is characterized by new creations about contemporary and social themes, community based projects, the combination of spoken text and live music, the sustainable construction of their own repertoire, the support of young talent, and developing a community with their public. Het nieuwstedelijk stands for connection, cooperation and entrepreneurship.
