Zefiro Torna

Zefiro Torna (2022)

Ever since its creation in 1996, the transhistorical music ensemble ZEFIRO TORNA has been known for its innovative concepts. The ensemble works with excellent musicians from all over Europe and uniquely brings the cultural heritage of the Middle Ages, renaissance and baroque to life for a wide audience. ZEFIRO TORNA does not limit itself to a merely historical approach, but enters in dialogue with other musical genres, as well as with literature, science, philosophy, and with contemporary expressions in the field of visual arts, theatre, and dance. This results in captivating formats on symbolical themes.

The ensemble collaborates with stage directors, choreographers, composers and performers as amongst others Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven, Bram Bosteels, Dick van der Harst, Ghalia Benali, Ief Spincemaille, Jeroen d’Hoe, Martin Valcke, Mauro Pawlowski, Sigrid T’Hooft, Stefaan Degand, Stevie Wishart, Timo Van Luijk, Tom Hannes and with companies and ensembles as Abattoir Fermé, ARSENAAL/LAZARUS, DE MAAN, Frank Vaganée Trio, LAIKA theatre of the senses, LOD muziektheater, Psallentes, Muziektheater Transparant, Ultima Thule, Flemish Radio Choir/Hervé Niquet, Ensemble Variances, Vocalconsort Berlin, ZOO/Thomas Hauert.
