Deepblue

Deepblue is an organisation for the production of performance, dance, music, video and installation art. It was founded by the media artist Christoph De Boeck, performance artist Heine Røsdal Avdal and choreographer Yukiko Shinozaki. 'deepblue' is a double reference: it is the name of a microcosm impossible to measure, but also of the chess computer developed by IBM which was able to win an intellectual game from a human being for the very first time. deepblue is concerned with human and technological forms of communication. Its productions are occupied with the accepted discrepancy between the organic and the artificial. In these productions video, sound, light and distribution of space are considered equal to the dancers, performers
and audience.

Recent projects include Field Works (2010), Staalhemel (2009), you are here (2008).
