‘The Quiet Volume’ van Ant Hampton speelt zich af in de Leeszaal van de Boekentoren, maar het is dan ook een “fluisterperformance voor twee”. Elk duo neemt plaats aan een tafeltje in de bib met een stapel boeken. Via een koptelefoon en geschreven notities krijg je instructies. Elk duo baant zich zo een eigen weg door de boeken en creëert een uniek verhaal. ‘The Quiet Volume’ legt op die manier een heel nieuwe leeservaring bloot. Het is een kleine, intieme belevenis, tussen blokkende studenten en lezende bibliotheekgangers… Hampton maakte ‘The Quiet Volume’ samen met theatermaker en tekstschrijver Tim Etchells (Forced Entertainment).
