Leen Van Dommelen

Leen Van Dommelen is a performance and visual artist based in Brussels.
Her work, made up of performances and installations, seeks a vulnerable
confrontation between the viewer’s gaze and the introspective, self-
conscious eye. Through her work, she dissects the body in a fragile game
between cruelty and poetry, exploring the mechanisms going on behind
the scenes of the visible body, in relation to, and often in tension with,
external reality shaped by societal norms and expectations. Delving into
the complex interplay between psyche and body, focusing on the duality
of control – holding and losing it.
