End of the Arts Database

From 2027, due to a lack of funding, our Arts Database will be closed. What does this mean in practice?

  • The data in this database will no longer be updated.
  • The data on this website will remain accessible until the end of 2026; until then, Flanders Arts Institute will continue to actively seek solutions.

Do you have any questions about this? Please contact our colleague Tom. You can find more information about the impact of the budget cuts at Flanders Arts Institute here.

Flemish collections and archives for the arts

Flanders Arts Institute started in 2015 as a merger organisation of the former support centres for visual arts (BAM – Institute for Visual, Audiovisual and Media Arts), for music (Music Centre Flanders) and for performing arts (VTi – Flemish Theatre Institute). The collections of these organisations have since been moved to new destinations with due care: below is an overview of their former archives.
