Who’s who in the performing arts in Flanders and Brussels?

Discover an overview of the following in the Arts Database:

An overview of performing arts

Find out more about the performances produced in Flanders and Brussels. We focus on subsidised productions, but are open to anyone who would like to have their performance included in our overview. For this, please email our colleague Christel.

Phasing out of the Arts Database

From 2027, due to budget cuts, our Arts Database will be phased out. What does this mean in practice?

  • The data in this database will no longer be updated: updates for (classical) music will cease in June 2026; those for the visual arts in October 2026; and the final entries for the performing arts will be made in 2027.
  • The data on this website will remain accessible until the end of 2027; until then, Flanders Arts Institute will continue to actively seek solutions.

Do you have any questions about this? Please contact our colleague Tom. You can find more information about the impact of the cutbacks at Flanders Arts Institute here.

Flemish collections and archives for the arts

Flanders Arts Institute started in 2015 as a merger organisation of the former support centres for visual arts (BAM – Institute for Visual, Audiovisual and Media Arts), for music (Music Centre Flanders) and for performing arts (VTi – Flemish Theatre Institute). The collections of these organisations have since been moved to new destinations with due care: below is an overview of their former archives.
