Emmy Wils

Already at a young age, Wils was fascinated by music. At the age of nine, she took her first piano lessons with Johan Bossers at the Municipal music Academy in her hometown of Tongeren. In 2012, she began studying with Piet Kuijken, Hans Ryckelynck and Boyan Vodenitcharov at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, and also with Peter Waas at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in the German city of Weimar. After her studies, she also took masterclasses with, among others, Pavel Eliashevich, Wolfgang Manz, Massimiliano Mainolfi, Rasa Jakutytė, Christian Wilm Müller, Lukáš Vondráček and Boris Giltburg.

She has bee, the recipient of several awards at competitions both in Belgium and abroad, including, but not limited to, the Cantabile competition, Blfius Classics, Stephan de Jonghe competition, Concours de piano de Liège, Concours André Charlier, and Triomphe de l'Art. Since 2016, she is a member of the Sonos Ensemble, and in 2020 she founded the duo Koi Collective, together with saxophonist Maarten Vergauwen. Together with the Polish flautist Natalia Jarząbek, she works on The Infinity Project, a project about circular breathing, leading her to regularly perform in Poland as well.
