Bn Projects - Maison Grégoire
The independent art centre Maison Grégoire, occupying a 1933 jewel of modernism by Henry van de Velde, came into being in 1995 as the brainchild of Véronique and Philippe Terrier-Hermann in association with the owner, Thomas Simon. For the founders of the association, it was a matter of making this place accessible to the public by putting in place a programme of exhibitions by young artists, from Belgium and the international scene. Alternative or even pioneering in the way it was run and in its curatorial choices, Maison Grégoire thus moved into an historic residence symbolic of modern architecture. Since it was first opened, Maison Grégoire has presented the works of more than a hundred or so artists such as Edith Dekyndt, Runa Islam, Christoph Draeger, François Curlet, Ann Veronica Janssens, and Barbara Visser.
