Ana Naqe
After her general musical education and a violin training in Tirana (Albania), Ana received her masters’ singing and violin – both magna cum laude - at the Luca Lemmens Institute in Leuven (BE).
She attended master classes ‘singing’ with – amongst others - Jard van Nes, Alexander Oliver, Leandra Overmann, Udo Reinemann at the Amsterdam Conservatory (NL), Ermonela Jaho, Tara Venditti and Diane Forlano. She completed her transition to lirico spinto soprano, whilst adding new roles to her repertoire.
Ana sang main roles in opera’s like “Die Zauberflöte” and “La Clemenza di Tito” (W.A. Mozart), “Lo Speziale” (Haydn), “Die Fledermaus” (Strauss), “Hänsel und Gretel” (Humperdinck), “La Périchole” (Offenbach), “La Scala di Seta” (Rossini), “Béatrice et Bénédict” (Berlioz), the opera “KET” (K. de Jonghe, world première), “Carmen” (Bizet), “Les Noces” (Stravinsky), “Dido and Aeneas” (Purcell), “Salomé” (Strauss), “La Bohème” (Puccini) and “Cossi fan Tutte” (W.A. Mozart).
In recent years, Ana has been working closely together with opera houses, music theatres, producers and ensembles such as: Brussels Philharmonic, Belgian National Orchestra, La Monnaie-De Munt(Brussels), Le Grand Théâtre du Luxembourg, Spectra ensemble, LOD, Walpurgis, Transparant, Aquarius, Zuiderwind, Blindman, ‘t Arsenaal, Silbersee, Haftcraft, , Jeugd & Muziek
She’s currently freelance musician at the Opera of Flanders (Ghent & Antwerp), and steady soloist at the Camerata Sancti Pauli (Antwerp).
Ana is a musical jack-of-all trades who dares to take on different musical disciplines thanks to her amazingly wide and warm vocal range and great improvisational skills.
Ana has focused on performing in opera’s, oratorio, Lied recitals, experimental music theatre, sometimes blended with own creations of contemporary classical music. This brought her to all parts of the world, including Japan, Australia and Canada.
