Il Gardellino
Since 1988, this destinguished period orchestra has spread its coloured wings to amaze the world with inspired productions and thrilling encounters. This close-knit group of musicians is extremely popular both at home and abroad: Concertgebouw Brugge, BOZAR, deSingel, AMUZ, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Festival de Saintes, Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht, Innsbruck Festival, Palacio de las Bellas Artes Mexico City, LG Arts Center Seoul, Melbourne International Arts Festival, etc.
Whether great, established masterpieces or forgotten repertoire by lesser-know composers (under the impetus of Peter Van Heyghen) the methodology and the ultimate objective of Il Gardellino and its moving spirits Marcel Ponseele and Jan De Winne remain always te same: striving for the highest standards, while surprising and stirring audiences with works from Monteverdi to Mozart and from Rosenmüller to Rolle. The lure of continuing to innovate is stronger than ever: in cross-over projects together with, among others, jazz-trumpeter Jean-Paul Estiévenart, choreographer Femke Gyselinck, director Tom Goosens and singer Raymond van het Groenewoud, new paths will be explored.
