Judith Ermert

Currently living in Belgium, the musicians' talent was discovered at a young age in her native Germany and her natural abilities were supported by numerous musical foundations and scholarships. Judith Ermert attended the  Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, Germany, receiving instruction from Young-Chang Cho and Christoph Richter. After graduation she took part in the post-graduate program at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England studying with Ralph Kirshbaum. At age 26, Judith  Ermert was appointed solo cellist at the Brussels Philharmonic. She further went on to complete her studies at the Royal Northern  College of Music in Manchester and private lessons with Siegfried Palm. A year later Judith Ermert became  professor at the Royal Conservatory Ghent. She also gives  master classes throughout Europe and is a founding member and vice president of the European String Teachers Association (ESTA) in Flanders, Belgium.     Judith Ermert appears regularly at international music festivals, has close ties with a number of broadcasters and has a regular Duo partnership with pianist Severin von Eckardstein.  Far from one to be typecast, her interests extend to modern music as well.
