Adva Zakai
Born in Israel, but lives in Europe. In recent years, Adva Zakai has been active as a choreographer, performer, or curator in various performance formats; Her choreographic work investigates how body and language influence each other and can often be experienced from multiple perspectives. Her productions are typically performed in theaters, museums, galleries, apartments, and digital platforms. In 2010, she received a grant for artistic research through a.pass Antwerp. They investigated the influence of a curatorial approach on the development of new performance formats. She studied dance in Israel and at the Mimeschool Amsterdam. She regularly collaborates with other artists on participatory projects, conferences, and festivals. She teaches performance practice at KASK Ghent and leads numerous workshops at art and dance academies abroad.
