Opera Ballet Vlaanderen
From January 31, 2014, the former Flemish Opera and the former Royal Ballet of Flanders merged into a single institution. The overarching legal name of the new company is Kunsthuis Opera Vlaanderen Ballet Vlaanderen vzw. However, this name is used only in administrative, legal, and political communications.
To the public, they communicate as Opera Vlaanderen and Ballet Vlaanderen (without articles). Internationally, they are known as Opera Vlaanderen and Royal Ballet Flanders.
The theaters are now named Opera Antwerp, Opera Ghent, and Theater ‘t Eilandje.
