Makers and performers

Fabrice Samyn lives and works in Brussels. His work revolves around a variety of themes, such as light and time, the issues of representation in our society, and the duality of idolatry and iconoclasm in the arts. It can take the form of paintings, photographs, sculptures, installations, or performances.
In his artistic practice, Samyn questions the boundaries of binary thinking: profane versus sacred, matter versus atmosphere, male versus female, shadow versus light, absence versus presence, immediacy versus duration, inhalation versus exhalation, and so on. To explore our concept of time, he draws inspiration from various conceptual and pictorial traditions, as well as from Western and Eastern spiritual traditions. His work is regularly exhibited both domestically and internationally.
