Trio O³

Trio O³

Trio O3 is composed of Eugénie Defraigne, Léna Kollmeier and Lydie Thonnard and the trio came to life thanks to the common interest of the three musicians in today's vibrant music.

After having defined their very own universe, the three musicians presented their first project, "Echoes of the Earth", in 2017 at the Espace Senghor in Brussels. At the same time, the trio also started collaborating with electronic musician Nicolas Marchant. Together, they perform concerts of improvised electro-acoustic music.

In 2018, Trio O3 emerged as the winner of the Supernova Competition, which aims to support young professional chamber music ensembles. In June 2019, the trio won the prize for the best performance of a contemporary composition dating after 1950, as well as a third prize in the 2019 International Opus Competition, organized by the Life and Art Foundation.

The trio performed in several festivals and concert halls in Belgium, such as Flagey in Brussels and the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Charleroi, and has also been invited to the Ars Musica festival in 2020 and to the Belgian Music Days in 2022.

For the past three years, the three musicians have been promoting Belgian music and have had the opportunity to premier works by Adrien Tsilogiannis, Sarah Wéry, Jonah Blumenthal, Max Charue, Virginie Tasset and Fabian Fiorini.

In September 2022, the trio was fortunate to perform at the Arvo Pärt Center in Tallinn for a concert mixing Belgian, Estonian and Finnish composers.

In November 2022, the Arsonic Hall in Mons welcomed the three musicians for the recording of their first album, which will be released in the coming months.
