Centre Henri Pousseur - Musique électronique/Musique mixte

Founded in 1970 on the initiative of Henri Pousseur and Pierre Bartholomée, the Centre Henri Pousseur (formerly known as the “Centre de Recherches et de Formation musicales de Wallonie”) has played a pioneering role and has been involved since its creation in the production and dissemination of electronic music and, in particular, mixed music. As a place of experimentation, exchange and contemporary realizations, the Henri Pousseur Center welcomes projects of artists from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, as well as from other regions of the country and from abroad.
Several commissions are launched each year by the Centre to composers from the Federation and abroad. Since 2009, it awards every two years the Henri Pousseur Prize to a young laureate of a Conservatory of the Walloon-Brussels Federation.
Through its own projects, such as the Festival “Images Sonores”, the Centre supports the diffusion of creations made in its studios, without neglecting the repertoire.
The activities of the Centre Henri Pousseur are carried out with the help of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (Direction générale de la Culture, Service de la Musique).
